Waste Removal
Blikkiesdorp has enormous problems with adequate removal of waste. Requests for more removal trucks and free waste bags are not heard.
Too often the residents in Blikkiesdorp suffer from stomach ailments. Especially children land up in hospital dehydrated. The consequence of germ infected air and soil is today the prevalence of Tuberculosis, Asthma and Excema.

The sewerage system cannot cope with the amount of people living inside the perimeter of Blikkiesdorp Shantytown with the result that they frequently experience foul smelling overflows, contributing to the unhygienic conditions they are forced to live under.
